| Description | I began making short films in high school. After graduation, my father gave me my first 35mm film camera. In 1977 it was almost an antique, the Argus C3 35mm film camera. I soon became a serious amateur SLR photographer, upgrading my gear and studying. In college I choose computers as my career but never gave up my love for film, and soon expanded it to included graphic images such as fractal designs. I became a certified scuba diver in 2001. In 2002 I was handed my son's digital underwater camera, while on a dive. I quickly figured out how to use it and even more exciting I found the video mode. Although I always have had the highest standards for my equipment and my work, a digital SLR with underwater housing was out of my reach at the time. I slowly moved from predominately stills to underwater video. In 2005 I met Mary Lynn Price and my filming direction and motivations have never been the same. She has both inspired me and mentored me. She encouraged me to switch to undersea HDV (high definition video). In 2005 I was fortunate enough to purchased a professional HDV camcorder. And in 2006 I purchased an underwater housing and began my undersea filming in earnest. |
